A small, desert-adapted subspecies of the grey wolf native to the Arabian Peninsula and the Levant. Persecution and habitat loss have made it rare in the wild. At the sanctuary, rescued wolves — including hybrids that can never be released — live in spacious enclosures within the Souf forest.
