A six-day workshop for undergraduate students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery at Jordan University of Science & Technology was conducted at Al Ma'wa in collaboration with the Princess Alia Foundation and the Embassy of the Netherlands. The program aimed to enhance student awareness, education, and practical experience in wildlife health and conservation.
The curriculum included lectures, group discussions, and hands-on veterinary work at the New Hope Centre. Topics covered encompassed ecosystem studies, applied pharmacology, physical and chemical wildlife restraint techniques, and husbandry and enrichment practices. Practical training involved darting and sedating lions for medical treatments, along with a field visit to Al Ma'wa Wildlife Reserve in Souf.
